Post-hardcore Music With Escape The Fate
One of today's bands who are at the forefront of the post-hardcore music scene is Escape the Fate
. They are currently enjoying a surge in popularity because of their three albums to date that are being discovered by new fans worldwide.
What is a post-hardcore music or band you might ask? It is actually a music genre that is based on the original hardcore punk and the punk rock music. Post-hardcore therefore refers to all the bands that emerged from the influence of the hardcore music scene. While hardcore is their inspiration, their music is actually closer to that of experimental rock.
Escape Fate was formed in Nevada, USA in 2004 with original members composed of Ronnie Radke as the lead vocalist, Bryan Monte Money lead guitarist, Omar Espinosa rhythm guitarist, Max Green bassist, and Robert Ortiz in drums.
However, the band experienced some personal problems that led to the replacement of some of its members.
For example, Ronnie Radke was sentenced into prison prompting his departure from the band. He was immediately replaced by Craig Mabbitt.
And just as Escape the Fate was starting to gain some grounds, their then keyboardist Carson Allen left to join the band, On The Last Day.
Omar Espinosa also left the band in 2007 due to unspecified personal reasons.
To say the least, it is only a normal thing for any band to lose and gain members over a period of time. The only difference is that Escape the Fate experienced these ups and downs during the so far short existence of their band. Add to that fact that some of the band members were going through some drug addiction problems. Something they were able to solve through rehabilitation.
They currently have three albums: This War is Ours, There's No Sympathy for the Dead, and Dying is Your Latest Fashion.
As the band members themselves claim, In the This War is Ours album, the opening track "We Won't Back Down" signifies their hard-partying and hard rocking life as a rock band then based in Las Vegas. The album may also show a hint of the influence of the music from their favorite bands, Motley Crue and Guns N Roses.
Two years after their first album, they released Dying is Your Latest Fashion. It was a landmark in the band's history as they were able to come up with an album even though they have gone through the worst episodes of their band's history.
It was during that time when their lead vocalist was imprisoned and their guitarist walked out on them to join another band. But the departure of their vocalist was a blessing in disguise because at that time Craig Mabbitt was available and when the band approached him, he was willing from the start to join knowing the full potential of their music and act.
Today, while Escape the Fate has been continuously categorized by their fans or critics, they often prefer to be remembered as that band that plays great rock music. Good thing that is true.
