There are several different ways in which a person can go about affiliate marketing. They can place text links and image links on their websites, which is common, but what about placing them in emails to people? Adding affiliate links to emails is not difficult but a few precautions should be taken.

In order to start adding affiliate links to emails, you need to be signed up for an affiliate program and you need access to an email marketing program. Email marketing programs allow you to send out one email to the masses on your email list within seconds, rather than having to send individual emails which would be a grueling process. Email marketing programs also keep track of who you have permission to send emails to and which people have opted out of receiving emails from you. It's very important that you only send emails to those who have opted into doing so or you could get flagged for unsolicited email spam.

Moving on, once you have the links to your affiliate products or services and access to an email marketing program, you first need to build that list of people who you can send to. This is the most difficult part of affiliate marketing in emails because it can take a little while to build up a good number of people on that list.

Once you're ready to start sending emails, you simply paste your affiliate links into the email body where you want them and add in any other text or images that you wish to. As noted though, there are quite a few precautions to take if you decide to affiliate market through your email list. Here is a short list of what you should watch out for:

If it's not permitted and you do it then you can risk getting banned from your affiliate program or simply not earn a comission if someone does click the link and completes the requirements. If the regulations seem confusing, you can simply call the program manager or email them and ask if it's ok.

You also need to make sure that you disclose the link in the email to avoid potential problems.

Affiliate marketing through emails is a possibility but you do need to be careful to make sure you're protecting yourself and that you're allowed to do it in the first place.
