About half of the prescribed amount will work the best. If it is available, use an extra rinse cycle. Do not use bleach, as this may make the fibres in your linens weaker and they will deteriorate more rapidly.

Shake out your linens before placing them in the dryer. You won't want to leave your sheets in the dryer too long; removing them while still damp will lessen the chance of wrinkles. Let them run in the dryer until almost completely dry and then hang to finish the process. The steps for silk or satin sheets are similar, with a few stricter rules: cold water only, do not use the extra rinse cycle, and it is recommended to avoid the dryer and hang dry only. (If you really prefer the dryer, you can put them in on the low setting and take them out when almost dry.)

Taking the time to follow care instructions and seeing to it that your luxurious bed linen have been properly attended to will ensure that you will not have to trade in your favourite sheets for a very long time.
