However, once those joyful feelings lift, all that's left is the spare tire that's has now taken residence around your waist. The only way to prevent you from becoming a victim of winter's weight gain wrath is to actively stay focused on continuing your daily workout routine, and practice healthy eating habits.

Eating right isn't easy especially around the holidays. However, with proper portioning and regular exercise, there is no reason you cannot stay fit and enjoy the holiday treats at the same time. In addition to keeping up with good eating and exercise habits, remember to get outside. Just because the temperatures have dropped doesn't mean you have to stay inside every hour of the day. The sun shines during these months too and what you might not know is that the sun provides out bodies with nutrients that help balance our serotonin levels. Without a decent amount of exposure to the sun, a person's serotonin levels will drop, increasing their cravings for foods like cake, cookies, and potato chips.
