Prevent Septic Tank Problems Making Your Winter A Nightmare

Preparing for the winter can be a difficult task but as long as you're organized it shouldn't be a problem

. I started to prepared for the winter a while ago and I've found it very beneficial in many ways. If you're considering getting everything in order for the winter this article will be ideal for you. I'm going to go through the different things I did for the winter and hopefully it will help you out.

Firstly we bought wood for the winter and piled it in the log store. If you don't have a fire you don't need to worry about this but it can be a great help if the wood as been ordered well in advance. I would then look at chopping some of it up into kindling so that you can light a fire whenever you need to without having to prepare before hand.

I then checked to see whether we needed cesspit emptying services before the winter. Cesspit emptying should be done roughly once a year but I always check before the winter as septic tank problems can be a nightmare if the house is cold and you have no toilets to use! Septic tank problems can be caused for many reasons including blocking your toilets.

I would also cut back your plants so that they don't get the full brunt of the cold weather when it arrives. I would then harrow around the plants and then either cover the ground with special plastic material or get muck to bed down the beds.

When it comes to your garden furniture if you have space store the items away in a shed or storage unit, if you haven't then purchase some good plastic or tarpaulin to help protect them against frost and water. You can easily pick this sort of stuff up from your local garden centre or DIY store.
