Preventing Allergies Inside And Outside The Home

If you are overly sensitive to dust, pollen and molds

, then you probably have allergies. You are not alone since almost 40 million people around the planet have the same condition as you. Most allergies are triggered by tiny particles (such as have been mentioned above) in the environment and the only way to prevent attacks is to get rid of these potential triggers.

Allergy attacks should be prevented in the home first. To keep the home free from allergens, see to it that every area inside the house is regularly cleaned and sanitized. To prevent dust build-ups in carpets and rugs, clean them regularly using a vacuum cleaner. When cleaning surface of furniture and appliances, use a damp cloth to prevent inhalation of dust.

Keep pets and plants off the house. Plants can make good decorations in the living room but they can also make potential allergy triggers. Fur from pets like cats and dogs can also be a cause of allergy attacks. If you or any family member is allergic to animal dander, it is best to minimize contact with pets.

Dust mites and other irritants can also stick to your bed coverings so make sure you change the sheets weekly. If you are allergic to certain types of cloths, be careful. Try to use silk instead since it rarely triggers allergies. The window curtains should be regularly replaced as well especially because they can directly accumulate dust from the outside.

Allergies are usually airborne so if you are on a picnic, don't stay too close to damp areas. Areas with tall grasses and flowers should also be off limits. When working in the yard or in the field, don't forget to wear protective covering especially if you are allergic to insect bites and stings. You might as well avoid these places rather than put your health at risk.

Allergies can be deadly. If you are not too careful you might fall victim to sudden attacks and in a minute find yourself in the emergency room. Though this is a fact, you need not be too afraid or worried since you can actually prevent allergy attacks from occurring by simply following certain precautions.
