Everyone of us a prisoner of himself. We are born with a body and we live within it all our lives. At death we either part company or are completely perished. It suffices to be conscious of the distancy we take from our own physical being. Our bodies are but the place where we live. It is our residence and the permanent one at that. We live in it, we have to submit ourselves to its needs, its demands, its motivations, its being.
No one lives outside his body. No one can leave one's own body and get out for a walk. We need our body to survive. Without it we do not exist, our being is annulled. It demands of us to be nourished. It demands to be fed, to eat and drink. It demands to sleep. And we all have to comply by its needs and demands. No exception to the rule.
Stop eating and drinking for few days and you are bound to die. Our body imposes itself on us. No freedom and no time it leaves for us and certainly no leave or holidays are allowed. If you like you can try to leave your body by suicide but the risk of coming back to your own home are very little.
Once you depart, and no one knows where, you cannot come back. One way ticket to the moon, or somewhere in this universe or in another universe.
All that is very well if you believe in the soul or the spirit. If not then you have no problem in living it up with your partner and when death do you part you return to the hole of ashes and shit where shall rot and be eaten by hungry worms.
But, seriously, if you are an organicist-mechanicist-atomist-materialist then you are alone in this world, a simple vegetarian zombie who bypasses the living dead. Your being is limited to what you can make out of your physical existence. Make the best of it for life is too short! And you have only one life, unless you are a devoted and respectable reincarnater.
If ever you come back as a rat or even as a precious cockroach which makes your real value in this life, then you have the chance to tell your absence to your fellow-rats and fellow-cockroaches.
But if you are an ardent believer in an after life or are citizen of the hereafter, like Jesus, then you don't care much about the worms devouring your flesh in your tomb, for you have departed to an unknown zone.
Coming back in your own form and shape, and color, for racists, gives you a break to leave your rotten and miserable body for a while then getting into it once more. If you have to be Tom Cruse or Marline Monroe, for ladies, then it is Ok, but to go back to your own shitty shape in the old world would hurt your ego and break your pride. You might ask the guard of Hell of Paradise, dependant on what belief system you have adopted in your worldly life, to send you back to earth and forget about you.
Those who have hope to be resurrected and be among the white sheep feel then that it is true what the Scriptures have proclaimed, the obligation of coming back and your atoms shall be reassembled again and your soul shall be married again to your own body and you shall celebrate your own wedding either in Hell or paradise.
