Processing A Solar Epc
A solar energy performance certificate (EPC) or more popularly known as solar EPC
is a requirement for a homeowner who plans to put his home for sale or for rent. This certificate provides for an individual comprehensive information on the changes that he can apply to his home to make it more energy efficient. This certificate can also give steps that must be taken by the latest house owner or house renter in order to reduce energy consumption as well as carbon dioxide emissions.
There are three steps that the homeowner will undergo to obtain a solar EPC. These steps include a survey, record of energy performance and the recommendation.
The first step to acquire a certificate is the energy assessment survey conducted by the recognized assessor from the Domestic Energy within the property. This means that the survey is conducted both inside and outside the given property. There are several things that will be surveyed and that include the construction of the roof as well as the walls and the presence of cavity wall insulation. The survey details also include the existence and the date of installation of double glazing and the number of fireplaces, both open and closed. Some other information taken account of the survey are the insulation and thickness of the rood and the usage of low-energy light bulbs. Other important factors in the survey are the exact year that the property was erected, the property layout and the measurement of both internal and external areas.
What should a homeowner expect from the certificate? There are two things that the certificate is consisting of. The first is the detailed report on the carbon dioxide emissions and energy usage while the second is a recommendation report.
Both energy usage and carbon dioxide emission are measured according to efficiency and graded by using the A to G grading system wherein A is the highest rating of efficiency while G is the lowest.
It is a given fact that carbon dioxide is a Greenhouse gas which is one of the contributors to global warming on the planet. It also causes changes in sea and temperature levels which often result to climate change. The EPC will suggest that the homeowner aims to minimize the emission of carbon dioxide to lessen the impact of such Greenhouse gas to the environment.
When it comes to energy usage, the EPC presents to the homeowner the propertys current energy efficiency and the achievable energy efficiency if improvements are installed within his property.
There are three important details that are taken account in the recommendation report. First on the list of recommended things are suggested improvement to minimize both energy consumption and carbon dioxide emission. Second is the calculated savings that a homeowner or a house renter will have if he applies the suggestions. And finally, the expected changes in both energy usage and carbon dioxide emission.
Some of the suggestions that may be included in the solar EPC are lessening usage of water, installation of low-energy usage light bulbs, cavity walls as well as pipes and tanks.
