A skilful exercise to build shoulder muscle is the barbell hang clean and press. In order to perform this exercise, you need to bend over a barbell in your hands that is equal to the length of your shoulders. Keep the barbell just above your knees at the beginning of this exercise. Be definite about your posture with your head in line with your spine, your back curved and your chest up. To accelerate the movement, push your hips forward and shrug off your shoulders. Bring the bar till your upper chest and grab it there by slowly bending the knees.

Continue with a couple of heavy sets with five to eight reps and take rest for a short while. Then a back off set of from ten to twenty should be performed with lighter weights. To build shoulder muscle quickly, you will have to perform the back off set.

A skilful exercise to build shoulder muscle is the handstand pushup. It is a very hard to perform exercise, but it can be adjusted for less advanced lifters. The most comfortable way to perform a handstand push up is to press your feet up against a wall and maintain this position for some time. Add some more time per week. Partial repetitions will be easy to perform for you within a short time.


Allow your feet to move up and down on the wall and increase the limit of this movement each week. After a few more practices, you will be able to perform a full range repetition, going down until your head just touches the floor. You should try hard till you perform a set of five to eight reps.

At this stage the level of effort put into this exercise can be increased by adding greater range. The best way to do this is to set down your hands on two boxes and lower your head between them. When you feel like doing this exercise is no more a hard job for you, try to do it with five to eight reps.
