Professions: Do Prestigious Professions Bring Satisfaction?
Nowadays a lot of young people dream about bright careers and popular professions
, almost all of them want to be a superstar. Each profession has even definite image, so to say. Some professions are regarded as very important and prestigious but some of them are regarded to be for losers, and some are very risky, for example, a fire-fighter or a baby-sitter.
Top managers
Well, a lot of people want to be a top manager of some enormous or at least big (consisting of four people) enterprise. Being a top manager presupposes being successful and independent. Top managers seem very confident; they wear expensive suits and drive expensive cars. However, one should notice that they only seem to be such successful. But, unfortunately, these people are not necessarily happy and satisfied with their life.
Only few top managers are really happy. The rest of them are miserable, they suffer from nervous tension and insomnia, some other diseases; they are not happy in their families if there is any, for top managers should be always working, they have nothing but there work.
Not prestigious profession?
Here it is important to point out that evaluating profession is very subjective, since some children can be ashamed if their mom or dad is a teacher, or for instance lawyer. One of the occupations which can be contrasted to top manager is profession of a builder. In majority of cases builders earn less than top managers, they do not usually wear expensive suits, but they earn enough to support their family. Finally, they do not bring their work home.
They have definite working hours and the rest of time they can spend on their family and their hobbies, which can be very exciting, for instance, making furniture or pottery. Most of these people do not suffer from nerves or insomnia; these people have all opportunities for being happy.
