. Everybody is seeing this market as a promised land, an opportunity to earn a fortune. Trading forex is in fact a very hard place to enter, with a sharp learning curve, very little chance to gain experience without losing money and the requirement to keep a level of self control.

in the beginning a new trader requires info and needs it in a hurry. However they need view these apparent trainers and experts with an air of cynicism until they can prove their credentials.

The new trader must be critical of their trading performance so they can improve from their own mistakes. It is not productive to constantly blame outside factors. Responsibility includes learning the ropes of the trade, doing proper research on your assets and brokers and ultimately knowing that your own success lies in nobody else but yourself.

Do not become like the majority of new traders who just follow decisions and advice from others who convey them such as experts and so called successful traders. I am not saying not to follow the flow but realize that it is usually the wrong decision to trust expert opinion all of the time. Before even starting to trade it is a good idea that the trader should have a specific understanding of exactly what they are trying to achieve, eg expected profit, number of trades per day or week, ROI, maximum risk exposure etc

If a new person to forex treats it as a bit of fun or a game they will most certainly lose money. Forex trading needs to be viewed seriously, a lot of effort is required in order to be a success.

It is an error to think that as a forex trader you will be constantly in and out of trades. There are long periods of just looking to find the best time to enter a trade. A crucial element in a new traders ability to profit is to have the ability to avoid the temptation to settle on a price when they know that if they hold on a little longer the price will most likely improve. This is also true when closing out a trade before the ideal time.

Try not to fall into the trap of thinking that the more complicated the trading strategy the better it must be. frequently it is better to carry out a simple proven technique well to be profitable.

All of the training books and training videos will not prepare the new trader for the worry and anxiety that accompanies trading and how it will influence a persons judgment. A lot of people forget that forex trade involves risks and it is part of the job. New traders have to be willing to shrug off a losing trade and carry on objectively.

Without a doubt the largest risk to a traders profit is not appreciating the discipline needed to follow a consistent strategy. New traders cannot become overnight success stories, they must work hard and gain knowledge through hard fought experience to become profitable. Forex trading requires attention and understanding of the market, and such dedication to learn requires discipline.
