Prolapsed Hemorrhoid an Overview

Did you know that there is such a thing as a prolapsed hemorrhoid? That is what happened when a hemorrhoid goes out. Although it is from the internal hemorrhoid that extends outside the rectum, it is often mistaken as external hemorrhoid. There is no clear illustration on how the latter is formed.

There are so many symptoms associated with a prolapsed hemorrhoid. These are mild itching or burning, minor to moderate bleeding, or in more extreme cases, you could feel a soft lump at the opening of your rectum and severe pain because of the inflamed tissues that came out. Other common prolapsed hemorrhoid symptoms are either blood found in the stool or blood on toilet paper. The inability to complete a bowel movement is another common symptom of prolapsed hemorrhoid.

Prolapsed Hemorrhoids are consistently due to too much straining (constipation is the reason),diarrhea, coughing, sneezing, vomiting, prolonged sitting and standing, pregnancy (pressure on the inferior abdomen because of the fetus), sedentary lifestyle, eating a low-fiber diet, obesity, standing or lifting too much, cirrhosis of the liver, anal intercourse, anal or rectal infection.

There are several stages in classifying prolapsed hemorrhoids. The first stage is mild and mostly not yet noticeable nor distended. The second stage is when you are having a quit painful bowel movement because the hemorrhoid is somehow swollen; stage three and stage four is when the hemorrhoid has come out of the anus. The last stage is when you noticed blood coming out of the anus.

It is not recommended to treat prolapsed hemorrhoids in stages three or four. Though, you may opt for other alternative surgical procedures. In order to avoid the painful and expensive surgery, it is best to treat your hemorrhoids as soon as possible. There are many non-operative treatments that you can use for stage one and stage two hemorrhoids namely suppositories, medicated creams, oral medicines (over-the-counter medicines and herbal medicines) and medicated pads. Many times hemorrhoids that are in stage one and two will go away naturally in a few weeks or sooner.

First is the rubber band procedure. This one is fairly common. However this procedure is painful and the recovery will take for a while. Rubber band legation works by stopping the blood circulation to the affected area and in due course shrinks the hemorrhoids until it falls off.

Second is the Stapled hemorrhoidectomy. This one is very innovative and one of the latest treatments in treating hemorrhoids. It works by stapling to reduce the stretched tissue that ropes the hemorrhoid tissues.

Third is sphincterotomy. It works by cutting a part of sphincter to reduce contractions.

Hemorrhoids can be easily treated. Know the symptoms and take care of it straight away to prevent it from worsening. Take preventive measures and live a healthy life so that you can avoid having hemorrhoids.
