Promotional Gifts Bring Back Memories

Memories are a very powerful thing. And promotional gifts can bring these powerful memories back instantly as I found out over the weekend when I was cleaning some old stuff out of my loft.

There were all sorts of stuff in there, old books, videos, video players and then I came across an old box full of baseball caps. As I child I used to live in a cap which always drove my Dad mad. I simply couldn't resist having a look through them.

In the box were caps from my old cricket club Nanpanton, which brought back a sad memory for me. It was my first ever game of cricket in the under 13's league. I remember walking out to bat with this Nanpanton cricket cap on, my eyes red raw and streaming as I had forgotten to take my hay fever tablets. I remember just about seeing the bowler run up but cant recall seeing the ball, but do remember hearing the stumps crashing down behind me. The young lad bowling was a county bowler, what chance did I have with my hay fever and the fact that I was out classed!

I then picked up a Proton cap which had logo bugs stuck all over it. I then remembered being at the Motor Show in Birmingham when I was 11 years old; I went with my father and uncle. We walked around the show looking at all the fancy new cars. Then at the Proton stand I was given a baseball cap and then the Proton girls stuck logo bugs all over it and then over my top. I can't remember what other cars I saw at that show. There must have been Aston Martins, Mercedes and Jags to name a few but over a decade and a half later I can remember the Proton stand, because of the promotional gifts they stuck on me!

If you make the effort in the presentation of your promotional gifts you can ensure that you get remembered. They work on a psychological level and I am sure if you look through the cupboards or loft at home certain items bring back very powerful memories. This same idea applies to promotional gifts.
