Proper Exercise And Healthy Eating Is The Best Weight Loss Solution
It is a shame that many people view losing weight as some sort of punishment and can have a negative view of the change
. "I will starve myself and over-exercise until I reach my goal weight, then having paid back my debt, I can return to my normal life" is often the attitude.
This approach causes so much grief because it is only a short-term solution. Weight gain is a long-term problem and it makes no sense to tackle a long-term problem with a short-term solution. A much better approach is to put back into your life the things that have caused you to become overweight in the first place - the things that are missing.
For starters how much proper exercise do you do? Not long duration endurance activity but proper exercise that directly works your muscles with sufficient loading to make them stronger. Without this type of exercise it will be almost impossible to maintain your weight as your metabolism will slow and you will be burning less fuel.
The next thing to look at is how much processed food do you eat each day? To lose weight 20 percent of your daily diet is about the limit that you can eat and still lose weight successfully. These foods have chemicals, man-made fats and sugars that throw your hormones 'out of whack' and mess with your appetite control mechanism.
While eating these so-called 'foods' you will likely experience intense food cravings that can cause you to overeat and make sticking to any sort of food plan almost impossible.
If you view losing weight as a chore or short-term issue that you need to deal with and it will be gone you are in for a battle - both with your weight and yourself.
If, on the other hand, you see improved strength from proper exercise and a more efficient metabolism from healthy eating and the resulting loss of excess weight as central to creating a more enjoyable life you will be more likely to make a shift that lasts. After all who wants to lose weight and get into better shape just for the short-term?
So you need to say a permanent goodbye to diets and 'fat-burning' workouts, get a proper strength training program in place and a healthy eating plan to support it and say hello to a body you will want to live in for the rest of your days.
