Format of the resume is one of the important points that should be considered while writing it. Writing a good resume requires the content to be put up to the point. This means that the length of the resume is one of the important factors that should be thought over. Layout of the resume depends upon the profession. Resume of an artist varies from that of an IT professional and it applies to various professionals. What discriminates the resumes of various professionals? Experience, skill set, education are the basics that discriminate the writing style of various resumes. Proper formatting for your whole resume should be followed to make it a winning resume.

This type of resume is suited if the candidate wants to highlight skill and functionalities. In this case you can omit the detailed information regarding your work history, i.e. the period of employment, position you held etc. Some times the employer may think that the candidate wants to hide some details and mostly the employers do not entertain this resume format.

Combinational format: Considering the limitations of the functional resume, combinational format is the good option to blend the best of chronological format and functional format while writing a resume. So you can emphasize on your work experience as well as skill sets.
