Golf carts have evolved a long way from its first models. When only electric carts where being used before, gas powered golf carts are the latest addition in the market. Now, golf carts are not considered the vehicles that can be used only for carrying golf equipments in the course.

With good maintenance of your golf cart, you can easily use them for different personal as well as industrial requirements without the need for using car and other automobiles. Since you have made good investment on your cart, you should also take much care in maintaining it in its best condition. If an electric cart is what you have, then you have to take proper care of its rechargeable batteries. The battery of the cart should never be damaged due to drying, erosion, cracking, or accumulation of dirt and fluids.

In order to prevent it from drying and catching fire, you should regularly rinse the battery in a mixture of baking soda and distilled water and then clean it dry. When working on the battery, always use a protective glove so that the battery's acid does not react with your skin. You should also recharge the batteries regularly. The battery plates should be covered with water. If necessary, you can add distilled water to it. The battery caps should be tightly sealed and the vents should also be closed firmly. The battery posts should be cleaned with petroleum jelly most often.

By regular cleaning and charging of the battery, you can prevent a lot of hazards occurring to both your cart and you. Proper maintenance will help in increasing the lifespan of your carts battery that can in turn add to the durability of your cart.
