Fashion is a term for styles of clothing that are in trend which many would class as fashionable or unfashionable if they arent in trend
. The Christmas sales dont always bring out fashionable gear in the sales but instead they drag out last years tat for some poor hopeless person to purchase.
It wasnt until the mid 1800s that masses of clothes were developed in more variety and affordable prices that people began to experiment with styles and follow their own fashion preferences. These masses of clothes end up being left behind when they arent sold and each year there is a Christmas sale to get rid of old stock, make more money and bring in new stock.
Many people fall for the bargains of Christmas sales and although you can end up getting a good deal with a designer dress being half price or, a pair of shoes from last season for 10 pounds people really do end up buying for the sake of it.
Buying for the sake of it is never a good thing and you can end up spending more money on a bulk of sale items instead of buying one quality garment with better stitching and material. To ensure you dont make the mistake of over spending in the sales you need to take a step back and ask yourself: Do I really need this!?
Asking yourself this question will allow you to re-think the sale item and wonder if it is something you will actually wear or get good use out of. A lot of the time the sale items are clothing from the summer or from unsold stock from years ago and these clothes arent always the most stylish of clothes.
Fashion doesnt have to be something that is in trend and you certainly dont have to follow a trend to look good but, a majority of people buy the masses of stock off the high street out of bad habit. This is one of the only cons about fashion as clothing comes and goes very quickly.
The pros of the sales are if you have spotted a dress thats full price that goes in the sale for half price and its in your size. There is no better feeling than finding an item like this and this is when it is ok to splurge in the sales because you cant let those one off bargains go without obsessing about it after and wishing you had bought it.
Another tip to follow when buying clothing from the sale rack is you need to check the quality of the garment before buying it like you would before buying a normal piece of clothing. Quality is the key and if the material is poor or it looks worn then you know to step away and buy something of value.
