Schlage deadbolts are compatible with standard American door preps, so there is no need to drill new holes in your door. After following the simple one tool installation instructions, you'll rarely need to remove it. It is readily programmable on the keypad itself, through the provided 6-digit programmer's code. No extra wiring is needed. The package includes an alkaline battery with a lifetime of three years.

Schlage offers both FlexLock and AutoLock types of deadbolts. AutoLock means that the bolt will automatically lock after five seconds. It also has no turn-piece on the inside. This is best for places that you don't want to be left opened, including rooms with important documents. The FlexLock, on the other hand, allows automatic or manual locking. You don't have to worry about being locked from the inside either way. Each Schlage lock includes emergency "panic-free" exit buttons.

The Z-Wave and the Schlage Bridge are important features of the Schlage deadbolt. Both of these wireless technology features are exclusive to the Schlage brand. The deadbolt keypad uses Z-wave to be accessible wirelessly. Through the Bridge application (a secure software program using the Schlage "LiNK" technology), information on the lock can be accessed through an Internet-enabled computer or cell phone. The Bridge keeps a full log of people entering the room, according to their respective 4-digit combination. You can also configure the program to send you email and text alerts when someone enters your home. If you are the administrator of the deadbolt, you can also open or lock the door wherever you are, which can be very useful in emergencies.
