Protoss Fast Expand Build Order - Starcraft 2 Protoss Strategy

If you're looking to expand quickly as Protoss to get that second income coming in quickly

, then this build is for you. However, it is fairly limited to certain maps. Basically what you're going to do is make an almost full wall at the choke point going into your natural expansion with a Gateway and Forge. Then fill in the gaps with your Zealots so no enemy units can get through. This strat works best against Zerg since they don't have any ranged units right off the bat. You won't be getting any Assimilator for awhile, you want to rack up as many minerals as you can to get that expansion down.

Start out like you normally would by building a Probe and sending your workers to mine. Once your supply hits 9/10 build a Pylon down near the choke point of your natural expansion (the one right outside your main base). You'll want to send your probe a little early since he will have to travel a small distance and you want to build the Pylon right when you hit 100 minerals. It's also a good idea to scout with this guy.

At 12/18 warp in a Gateway in the most narrow part of the choke point. It helps to have the building grid turned on so you can be sure there's no gaps anywhere. Build a Forge at 15/18 right next to your Gateway so it's almost blocking off the choke point. You want there to be enough room for your units to get through, but not enough to let a stream of Zerglings in.

Warp in another Pylon and train a Zealot or two and put them on hold position right next to your two buildings so no enemy units can get through. This will effectively wall off your base and prevent your enemy from getting any Zerglings into your mineral line.

As soon as you hit 400 minerals (it shouldn't take long since all your Probes are mining Minerals), build a Nexus at your natural expansion. While it's building it's a good idea to set up one or two Photon Cannons near your wall. If you place them 1 unit grid behind your wall, they will be able to hit Roaches without getting hit in return.

From this point on, it's up to you to macro as best you can, building more Gateways, Probes and transferring your workers when your Nexus finishes. If you get this expansion up you will be well ahead of the enemy player going into the mid to late game.
