As his defense, he is telling you that you are insecure. It is quite nerve bursting when he do that. Actually he is right but not making a point. He is right with such conclusion because you are his wife and you have all the right to get insecure. However, he is not in the position to remind you that because you are the one in the right path. He has wronged you and he should deserve something that he will regret forever.

At this point, when your husband brags about your insecurity, it simply means that he is guilty of what he did, but he doesn't have any choice. He has to compliment himself with how you feel. That is a sign that he is not respecting you as a wife and more as a person. That is a start of an unhealthy relationship. The infidelity plus a pushy accusation is just too much in taking.

If he is too proud about it then you are just being foolish to stay in that marriage. Marriage counselors see this as an odd behavior and your husband needs attention from a psychologist. If it is not being healthy already they would recommend for you to get out of the union. It is not giving up but by promising your family ahead.
