MPEG is an acronym for Moving Pictures Expert Group
. It has various versions to support several formats of video files. MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MPEG-7, MPEG-21 are examples of the versions of MPEG available.
VOB stands for DVD Video Object. It is the actual file found on Video discs that contain the multiplexed Dolby Digital Audio and MPEG-2 Video which enable the sound and video respectively.
VOB files are not easy to read and most of the players do not support this particular format of Video recording.
