According to surveys conducted directly with terminal users from different cruise ships, 81 % of passengers are from the United States, 13 % from Canada, 1 % from Mexico and 5 % from other parts of the world. This guarantees strong support for the tourism sector, since it is estimated that a tourist traveling by cruise spends an average of $150 to $200 USD per day.
