Punching Embroidery Designs

If you are planning to offer embroidery digitizing service as a commercial proposition

, then the last step in the process of creating a custom embroidery design is to punch the digitized embroidery files on to the design card which then gets loaded to an embroidery machine prior to stitching.

There are two types of embroidery cards one time and reusable cards. It is better to use reusable embroidery cards if you are for your personal needs and do not plan on storing the design for mass production later. This will help you save money as you do not have to purchase extra embroidery cards every time you digitize a new design or logo. However, if you are planning to digitize embroidery or digitize logo for commercial purposes then you would need to store each design in an embroidery card which can be then given to your client if required. In such a case a onetime card is a better option as you can enhance your service offering by providing not just the embroidery digitizer files in soft copy form, but you can also offer to punch them out in an embroidery card. When you choose the embroidery card, make sure that it is compatible with the embroidery machine that you plan to use it on. If you plan to hand it over to a client after digitizing embroidery for their use later, then you need to first understand the machine that they plan to use and get cards that are compatible with the machine. In fact if you can offer end to end services and do the embroidery digitizing, embroidery card punching and the actual embroidery all by yourselves then customers would prefer to deal with you as they do not have to approach multiple vendors to get their logo or embroidery on to fabric.

After you have created the embroidery design in the embroidery digitizer, you need to transfer it or punch it into the embroidery card. For this you can use the reader-writer box that can be readily attached to your computer using a USB port. Just like inserting a CD in the CD drive, you need to insert the card into the slot opening. After the embroidery design has been punched into the card, you can use it in your embroidery machine for automatically stitching out the pattern on to the fabric of your choice. You need to just make sure that the fabric does not shift while the machine is creating the digitized embroidery on it. For this you can use either a sticky stabilizer sheet or a normal stabilizer sheet along with some fabric adhesive.

Today the market is quite competitive and if you plan to enter this field commercially, then you need to make sure that your designs are unique and your service offering is attractive enough for potential customers to choose you over competition. Excellent design quality, competitive pricing and superior customer service are some of the factors that can help you succeed in this business.
