Puppet Show Organized At Hotel United-21 In Thane

Hotel United-21 Thane was buzzed up on 24th March 2012 with its club members

. It was for an event featuring Ventriloquism or puppet show. The puppet show was a great enjoyment for families especially kids who were anxiously waiting for the event to come. Along with the puppet show there were lots of fun based activities like Housie and many more.

Most of the members, who had never seen a puppet show earlier, enjoyed it to the maximum level. The event started at around 7 pm and concluded at around 9.15 pm. The Puppet show mesmerized club members for nearly one hour. Hotel United-21, Thane in its trend of arranging fabulous events for club members as well as its valued customers has become more popular in surrounding regions. More attention is given while arranging the events at United-21, Thane in making the event entertaining as well boosting the creativity of the attendees.

Since most of you have little information about Ventriloquism, we will try to explain more about the concept. It is the art of speaking by puppeteer in such a manner that the listener will think that puppet itself is talking to audience. The puppeteer has to keep great control over movement of his hands which handles the puppet. At the same time he has to provide speech or sound to the puppet. Simultaneous actions of the puppet and speech matching the movements give a feeling that the puppet itself is talking or making strange sounds. While speaking for the puppet the puppeteer has to control his leap movements. The effect of this illusion is perfect when the puppeteer is having excellent coordination between his speech and hand movements. This perfection is achieved after many experiences. The difficult part of Ventriloquism is that the speech provided to the puppet is not ordinary but totally in a different tone which has to match the puppets character. Even though the art of puppetry emerged with the aim of entertainment it is the best platform for educating the masses.

The different types of puppets in traditional forms of puppetry include Glove, Rod, String and Shadow puppets. Puppetry is popular by different names in various Indian states. Glove puppets which are also known as hand puppets, is a small figure with various body parts and a long costume. The puppeteer inserts his hands in the glove in such a way that he can make movements of the puppets body parts easily. Glove puppet shows are common in Kerala, Orissa and west Bengal. Rod puppets are larger than glove puppets which are supported by rods of various sizes. The action of rods are usually connected to the hands of the puppet and manipulated by the puppeteer. Rod puppets are common in the states of Assam, Orissa, and West Bengal. Shadow puppets are flat puppets which are operated against stretched white cloth screen with a light behind it. The audience is watching the puppet in the form of shadow on the screen. String puppets are made of wood, or cloth containing cotton or saw dust. The puppet is suspended from a hand held control string attached to different parts of the puppets body. It is controlled by series of strings attached to them. String puppets are common in Rajasthan by the name of Kathputli. The art of puppetry originated and flourished in India and was spread to many other neighboring countries.

The Puppet show at Hotel United-21, Club Thane was a nice platform of entertainment and interaction amongst the members of family club.
