Pure Home Water Purifiers Will Remove Almost 100% Of The Contaminants

Pure Home Water Purifiers Will Remove Almost 100% Of The Contaminants

Pure home water purifiers include a technology that kills living organisms, such as bacteria. The technology is also used in the company's air purifiers. While this is a great idea for some homes, it is unnecessary for most.

Today's public treatment facilities use UV light, ozone and chemical disinfectants to kill bacteria, algae and other living things. While these processes have improved the safety of public supplies and reduced the incidences of waterborne illnesses, the improvement did not come without a cost.

The cost in this case was an increased risk of several types of cancer, including bladder cancer, which prior to the implementation of public disinfection had been relatively rare. One of the doctors who first noticed the increase blamed chlorine.

Chlorine is a mild toxin. Chlorine gas is actually more toxic than the crystal or salt form. The gas was used as a weapon until carbon-containing masks were introduced to remove the toxin from the air.

However, it was not chlorine that caused the increase risk of cancer. It was actually the chlorination byproducts, referred to as THMs. A recent study conducted by EPA scientists concluded that any disinfection method would produce similar byproducts. Thus, the only solution to the problem was point of use filtration.

In other words, you need some kind of pure water technology for your home, but the disinfection part has already been taken care of. You actually need something to remove the disinfection byproducts. Only a few of the filters on the market include the right technology.

In order to determine whether or not a pure home water purifier will remove THMs and other disinfection byproducts, you need to look at the company's "product performance data". Companies are not required to have the testing conducted in all areas.

The better companies do, because they are proud of their pure water technology and the performance of their products.

THMs are not the only impurities the average homeowner needs to be concerned about. Traces of lead, pesticides, herbicides and pharmaceutical products are among the toxins that have been found in samples of public supplies tested by independent researchers. The best purifiers will remove nearly 100% those traces. The product performance data confirms it.

Other things you might want to consider when choosing a purifier include cost of purchase and cost of use. While Pure Home water filters are good products, there are other brands on the market.

It pays to do some comparative shopping, before you buy.
