Put All In Perspective When Reading Books And Articles

When reading a book, you should be aware on when that book was published and what kind of environment it was set. It can be a daunting experience to read a whole book just to find out, at the end, that the book was published before a major event that changed world economics.

Take for example the world wide crisis of 2008. Search for a few articles before the Lehman's Brother bankruptcy and check out what they think about the world and its financial status. It is quite a fun read to have. Do it on a weekend to relax and see what all those so-called "experts" were talking before the world tested all their articles and ideas in just one week. Isn't funny that they will be studying in the universities all the reasons why the world crisis happened, but at the same time, how they were not able to see it coming?

Imagine any university. Imagine a whole class listening to a great teacher of that university explaining and showing you clearly all the reasons why the financial crises happened the way it did. But then, you might wonder or even ask him to see how well he responds "Wait. Weren't you here, in this university, teaching, BEFORE the crisis happened? If it is so clear, why couldn't you see it?" Exactly. That is the point they might not be able to answer.

The world financial crisis changed the world for good. Some gurus are no longer gurus and some well-known "rules", might not look so good from now on. But that is good thing. Crises are an important and NECESSARY step in men's evolution: it cleans up the house and let it grow again only the most and best suited companies / people. So, do not frown upon the world crisis: embrace it and survive.
