Some people like to make two sets of gear, one for PvP and one for PvE. I personally believe that as an Assassin you only need one set gear, which will focus on increasing damage, critical rate, and attack speed.

When it comes to weapons you really only have two choices, swords or daggers. Swords have high base damage, but slower attack and lower critical rate. Daggers have lower base damage, but are slightly faster and have much higher critical rate.

So do I choose dagger or sword - and what stats should I look for?

Many players suggest that to use dual swords for PvE and dual dagger for PvP. I say it depends on the stats of the dagger and the sword.The bonus stats you should look for on a weapon are Attack speed, Critical rate, and Attack damage increase. Optional stats would include Accuracy, Parry, and HP.If a sword has +Atk speed, + Critical rate, and the dagger has +Attack damage only, go with the sword.If both the sword and dagger have the same mod it really does not matter; I personally would go with the sword for higher base damage.

When it comes to choosing sword or dagger, it really comes down to if you want to critical more often or do more damage per hit. The 0.2 in speed difference between dagger and sword is not that big of a difference. Choosing your armors for pvp is simple since you can only wear leather or cloth, and I have yet to see an Assassin wearing full cloth armor.The stats to focus on for armor are Evasion, Physical Defense, and HP. And at higher levels you can consider using more Magical Resistance gear instead of Evasion to resist stuns, snares, and roots. Also higher-level armor has bonus stats to increase your base agility. Increasing your agility will increase your Evasion, block, and parry rate. Optional stats at high level are + Flight Time, and + Flight Speed.
