Questioning If Nintendo Will Compete With Sony And Microsoft This Year?
It is not a very easy job to keep a company on its feet for more than a century
. For some, it is even considered a feat to even last for a couple of decades with good numbers. However, things are far different in the gaming industry. Nintendo has been around for the past 123 years and still, it has managed to carry on.
In this era where connectivity means so much more than anything else, there is no place for second best. Only the finest stays on top and the rest will have to do better or stay under. In 2007, the first generation Wii was introduced and it didn't really go as far as Sony and Microsoft did.
We all know that the Wii was the first motion controller that we have ever seen in the market. However, the two competing gaming titans came up with their own versions that literally drowned the Japanese motion console. It will surely take a lot more than Mario and Luigi to bring the Japanese company to higher grounds at this point.
The competition among gaming devices is getting convoluted and more advanced each time. For some, it is almost impossible to keep up with the progress of Sony and Microsoft's gaming products. However, things actually changed when the Japanese gaming company proclaimed the new Wii U GamePad during last year's E3 gaming event. It is set to be released anytime in November this year.
They certainly did the right thing to launch the new console just before Christmas. That way, gamers will be able to buy it just in time for the holidays. The Japanese company aims to make the new gaming hardware the center of living room entertainment in the near future. It will not only be your regular GamePad but it will also serve other purposes.
With the help of the new touchscreen feature, this innovative controller will surely make sure you get the best of different gadgets in one. The touchscreen will not be just like any other tablet because it will give you more functions than you can imagine.
Also, it doesn't really matter if the new console will not tie its online service to Facebook or Twitter. That is because Miiverse is the next thing in online social media and there is nothing like it just yet. For sure, it will start a new craze among other online social networks.
In Miiverse, users will be able to team up and play games interactively with each other in real time. They will also be able to talk with other users around the world simultaneously. It is Nintendo's way to address the need for online social network functions. In the next few months after its release, you will be able to connect to Miiverse through your PC and your smart phones.
You also won't need to own a Wii U just to get into the new online social network. All you need to do is to register for an account and that's pretty much it. Making up for lost time in the gaming industry is not an easy thing to do. However, keeping up with the newest gaming technology doesn't seem to be a problem with the Japanese gaming giant.
