Quick Tips to Brighten Up Your Skin

Some days seem to be longer than others, and it takes a toll on your skin

. If you find yourself navigating a busy day, where you just don't have time to pamper your skin, there are some quick refreshers that will liven up your face and freshen your appearance.

A cool, refreshing spritz of your favourite toner will do wonders to awaken your skin. Keep some toner in a small travel spray bottle in your refrigerator. A little spritz through the day will give you a much needed boost. You can follow it will some cool water, and as always, be sure to add a little moisturizer.

If your day starts at dawn and your schedule is packed, multi-task your skin care. After you wash your face in the morning, apply a hydrating mask and allow it to sit while you get breakfast ready or the kids dressed for school.

Nothing gives you rosy cheeks like a little time outside. On sunny days, be sure to apply sunscreen, but make it a point to get outside for at least a few minutes. Walk the kids to school, work in the garden or just take a stroll around the block. Even in cooler months, your skin will thank you for it.

Give your face a steam bath! Run hot water into a sink and lean over it with a towel over your head, making a tent over the sink. This allows the steam to penetrate and open your pores for a deep cleansing to remove blemish causing oil and dirt. You can follow up with a facial, mask or a quick face massage. A damp washcloth heated in the microwave and applied to the face also works well. Remember to rinse with cool water to close pores when you are done, and of-course, moisturize!
