. The compression program is a simple interface with an aim of making a replica of a DVD. Due to its excellent features and functionalities, it has become one of the most popular programs of its kind. DVDShrink has an ability to shrink the size of movie written on an 8.5 GB dual layered DVD up to 4.7 GB single layered regular DVD.

When you choose the DVDshrink program, you will be directed toward the main menu of the compression software. On the top, you will find a main menu with around six icons that represent the functions of the software. The software will give an option to either take the back up of entire information stored on the DVD disc or just compress the selective part of a movie on a regular DVD.

Create a Replica of DVD

Insert the DVD you want to create a copy of into the drive. Click on the Open Disc option given on the left side of the menu. DVDshrink will analyze the files quickly through the various specifications in order to determine what suitable size to convert the information into a compressed form.

Once the analysis process is done, you will see DVD structure option on the left side of the menu. You can find compression setting on the right side of the menu. The DVD Shrink automatically determine the compression setting and provide you the best quality copy. The quality of the replica will be exactly the same as the original.

Click on the Back up icon on the top of the menu. Select the location where you would prefer to save the replica, click on Ok.

If the original DVD has more than standard 4.7 GB size, you need to remove some elements of the film, and compress the size of the movie. If the DVD shrinks compression window shows less than 100 %, the program will need to compress the original video to a smaller size.

In order to make a high quality copy, remove the elements of the DVD for instance, the foreign audio and subtitle tracks, cut the extra scenes, delete footage and any other elements which are not necessary. Select the Re-author mode from he icons to choose the specifically to get a high quality DVD.
