Quit Smoking Guide

Smoking is becoming a huge problem all over the world

. Kids start smoking and get addicted from a very young age and develop cancer and heart disease earlier than ever before. This guide is written for any smokers that wish to learn some helpful tips on how to quit smoking cigarettes, marijuana, or any other addictive substance.

Cigarettes are just as addicting as heroine and cocaine!

It's a fact. Cigarette addiction is strong, much stronger than most people even realize. Before you can start dealing with the addiction you need to understand that you're addicted - your brain has developed a dependency on the chemical to continue its normal function. Once that chemical is gone, the brain craves more nicotine - and you start experiencing withdrawal symptoms which include inability to focus, sleeplessness, loss of interest in activities, anger, and others. These symptoms are the ones usually mentioned by smokers that cigarettes "help them relieve". On the other hand, a non smoker doesn't need to smoke to experience that "relief" at all times.

So enough with the addiction, we know it's bad. But what are we going to do about it? For starters, you need to make a decision to quit smoking and stick with it! If you have a smoking buddy, perhaps convince your smoking buddy to quit smoking with you. It would be a great experience as both of you undergo similar withdrawals. What's better than having smoking withdrawals? Having smoking withdrawals with your buddy!... Enough kidding around.

If you attempt to quit with someone who made the same decision you'll find it easier to quit. However, that shouldn't stop you from trying to quit by yourself. Begin by making a list of things you could do to attempt to suppress those withdrawal symptoms. Fun things that you love doing that you don't normally smoke while doing. Engaging in activities that remind you of smoking will cause more craving and it's something you should try avoiding. Fill up your schedule with as much stuff as possible, and don't stay home alone with a pack of cigarettes in your drawer - you're going to crack!

Get rid of all of your cigarettes. Take your mind off smoking. Put a straw in your mouth and inhale oxygen pretending it's a cigarette. Whatever you do, don't let your brain have its way. The first week will probably be the hardest. You will find your mood decrease, you'll lose interest in outdoor activities, hanging out with your buddies, talking to your girlfriend or boyfriend, and feeding your cat. But don't let that bring you down.. Don't focus on you quitting smoking.. And at the same time don't give in!
