Most smokers who have tried to quit smoking have failed to continuously detoxify
themselves from it because eventually, they found themselves unable to completely quit and have started to smoke again after a few months of not smoking. It is a fact that quitting smoking is easier said than done but it doesn't mean that you give up so easily when in fact you yourself have opened the possibility that you could really quit smoking. It is a matter of attitude; it's all in the mind.
But on the brighter side, there are those who have successfully quit smoking for good. In fact, they too have failed to quit the first time they tried. So you see - it takes time. You just can't tell yourself that tomorrow you won't be smoking anymore. It takes a lot of courage and discipline for you to be able to successfully, totally or completely stop smoking for good.
Well, like I said - it's all in the mind. It is about having the proper mind setting. It is more than telling everybody that your new years' resolution is to quit smoking or your birthday wish is to stop smoking. You have to have the heart, the courage and the will-power to conquer such habit. You have to set your mind that you can win the fight against smoking; that you can control yourself - which you have the power over yourself to control.
You have to take back that power of control that smoking has taken away from you. No one else could ever truly help you in ceasing your smoking habit but yourself. Your family and friends are here to support you but everything lies within your hands. It is always your choice, not somebody else's choice. You have to commit yourself with the words that you have spoken about quitting smoking. You have to be strong in order for you to regain such control over you mind, heart and soul.
Start everything by trying to fight your cravings of cigarettes. You can make yourself busy from other things such as doing exercise, cleaning your house or even playing your favorite sport. Just think about the future; about how you see yourself ten or twenty years from now. It's never too late to quit. Keep in mind that smoking kills. It can destroy your health. So hold on to those facts. Fight smoking today and you will surely be able to quit easily.
