I still remember the disturbing telephone call in the wee hour of the morning. My pal, Sheila, had finally called it quits with her long time boyfriend and needed a shoulder to lean on. Well that's what friends are there for. Within a jiffy, we were all there to console her. While I was sorry for the poor soul, I couldn't help smiling because I never liked her man anyway. I never understood why he loved him in the first place; he was nothing but an insensitive jerk.
After nights of tears, the emergency calls every now and then whenever she recalled something about him and the painful breakup, she finally picked up the pieces and realized that, after all, the man wasn't worth it. She finally smiled again and moved on with her life. So, it was quite a shocker when she called me again. I couldn't believe it was a SoS about the same dude! Apparently they had made up and she kept it from me. "I just wanted to give it a second chance." She said, sobbing.
According to her, the man had called saying how much he regrets, misses her and wants a second chance. This time, she was really heart-broken because he had disappointed her twice despite his assurances. That's the reason I feel like screaming every time someone mentions an ex, for they do too much damage. But, here I am writing, wondering if giving an ex another chance ever works out.

If I could get a dollar for every time a woman goes back to her ex with high expectations only to be crushed, I think irks me that despite the numerous examples around, women still fall prey.
What is it about an ex that women cannot get past? When it comes to dealing with an ex, it's totally different thing that I can't even understand because women always fall prey. It's like you cannot think straight. Getting back with an ex depends on how you broke up. If you separated because of circumstances like going away to college, then maybe, you can give it a try again if you can. If you broke up because the relationship fell into pieces, it's probably left broken. While we all deserve a second chance when we make mistakes, giving someone a second chance in a relationship is tricky because, in most cases people don't change and it's not worth the heartache to go through it all a second time.
Changes occur every day of our lives. They can be as natural as the change of season, or as necessary as a change of a currency, but only personality changes seem to cause problems. There is this saying that everyone ought to know by heart. He said that women expecting them to change, and men marry women expecting them never to changeand they're both wrong. The same thing applies to relationships. To the dismay of millions women out there, men never change. Expecting a miracle is just being too ambitious.
The thing is, most people will take ex back not because they really want to give them a second chance, but because they miss the idea of being in a relationship. Going from coupled to single hood can make a girl lonely in the world of dating. You miss someone to go to the movies with, talk with, sleep substituted by a hobby or even by having a pet around, as this won't hurt you.
