Radiate From The Roots Of Your Hair To Your Toenails
Just walk through any beauty store and you'll find an array of products for every inch of your skin
, every strand of your hair and even your toenails. While it's true that some areas and problems need specific targetted solutions, there are some basics to beauty that should never be overlooked.
Everything from the roots of your hair, including the scalp, all the way down to the soles of your feet need adequate hydration. The body is actually made up of about 70% water, and we lose moisture during normal activities as it gets used up by vital organs. We also expel water through the pores when we perspire, and even by breathing. Yes, every breath you exhale allows a little moisture to escape.
It should go without saying that we need to replenish our hydration levels on a continuing basis. Drinking water through the day will keep hair shiny and strong, skin radiant and nails looking their best. It also keeps your lips from chapping, your skin from becoming cracked or itchy and your eyes from becoming red. There is simply no moisturizing lotion, sythetic or organic, that can hydrate your body as well as drinking lots of water.
You also need a balanced diet. Yes, I know, it's not always easy. However, every part of your body, both inside and out needs certain nutrients and vitamins to keep strong. If you can't seem to find a diet that works, try taking supplements. Vitamin and mineral supplements are available in organic formulas as well as the traditional, and they're easy to add to your routine. There's no excuse for not getting enough vitamins every day, not only for your internal self, but to help keep skin and hair from becoming dull and faded looking.
Finally, make sure your blood is flowing nice and strong. Your blood brings oxygen, moisture, vitamins and other nutrients to the areas they are needed. How do you keep the blood pumping? Get a little excercise. Did your mother every tell you a little fresh air puts colour in your cheeks? It's actually the physical movement in the fresh air that gets the blood flowing. A good brisk walk; climb some stairs; play with the kids on the swing set. Just get your heart pumping, you're blood flowing and you'll be amazed at how well your body responds.
