Rahul Gandhi will reach out to every section of society in his 3-day visit to West Bengal

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will be on a three-day visit to West Bengal

to familiarize himself with the ground situation in the state and also boost the Youth Congress Membership drive in the state.

Pradesh Congress Committee president Manas Bhunia said that from September 14 to September 16, Rahul Gandhi would visit 10 places in the state, where he will interact with the potential candidates for Youth Congress, and address separate conventions for minorities, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and women.

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's tour will cover the entire state from Jalpaiguri to Basirhat in North 24-Parganas and Garden Reach in South 24-Parganas to Visva Bharati in Santiniketan.

Rahul Gandhi will begin his tour from the campus of Visva Bharti University at Santiniketan on September 14 where he will address elected representatives of Congress in zilla parishads, gram panchayats and municipal bodies. Afterwards, he will have an interaction with with youths at Basirhat and Garden Reach in the northern and the southern outskirts of the city. In the next two days his visit will cover Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, Balurghat, Kolkata, Howrah, Garbeta and Asansol.

On Sep 15, he will address the tea workers and tribals at Jalpaiguri. In Coochbehar he will address a Scheduled Castes convention and concludes his visit of the second day with interacting with youths in South Dinajpur.

Youth icon Rahul Gandhi will conclude his tour on September 16. On the last day of his visit he will meet families of slain Congress leaders and potential Youth Congress candidates in Howrah. Moreover, he will address a women's convention and then travel to Garbeta in West Midnapore district to address a Scheduled Tribes convention.

In all these places, Congress General Secretary will meet with the members of Youth Congress from select parliamentary constituencies, and choose the potential candidates for the upcoming organisational elections.

These three-day whirlwind tours are intended to recapture the political turf that once Congress used to have in West Bengal by boosting the morale of Youth Congress members and revitalizing the Congress organization.
