It is only when you get fed up of being common and average and you begin to act on making yourself the best and living life to the best of your knowledge that you are on the road to self development. If you feel like there is much more you can do than what you are currently doing, then this only means that you are not living to the best of your potential and thus effective living. Think about something or anything no matter how small, which you can start to do right now to achieve personal growth. Get over the fear of what people will say or whether you can make it through the journey of coming out of being average and do everything it takes to make you the best. Increase your knowledge by going back to school. If you only have a diploma, go back to college and get a degree, if you have a degree get another degree but keep updating your skills. People stray because of lack of knowledge and wisdom. Make sure you stay a head of what every one else is doing. Knowledge is power. Update your capabilities so that you can either get hired to lead others or people can come to consult from you. Do not get stuck in your past. Train yourself to wake up when you fall. Do not let your past failures hinder you from moving on or from trying again. I know how difficult it can be to overcome disappointments in life. But realize that there are people who go through worse and they still move on from their predicaments and achieve success. Learn from your mistakes. A life spent making mistakes is better than one spent doing nothing. Never settle for average, always go for the excellent. Excellence begins by a disciplined lifestyle, it demands that you keep growing, it demands hard work and this is how self development is attained.
