Rajesh Bothra Kobian Ceo
There is no better story of business success and how to reach it than the story about Rajesh Bothra
, Mumbai born Indian who as only 16 year old decided to quit his studies and start his own business.
Rajesh Bothra was born 1968 in a Marwari family whose roots come from a Rajaldesar village in Rajasthan. His tip on how to succeed in business is to be fearless, always ready for all kinds of problems on your road and never to give up your dreams embracing every opportunity. Such thinking brought him where he is today, to become CEO of Kobain, a top IT company with over S$300 million yearly turnover. Kobain's brand Mercury is the reason this company today standing side by side with companies such are Intel, IBM and Compaq.
After realizing that India isn't the best place to run the business because of the number of problems that businessmen in India meet daily, Rajesh found better ground in Singapore and decided 1991 after marrying to move his business and his home there. Singapore seemed as a better option than Hong Kong and Dubai because of similarity in culture and way of life with life he use to have in India.
After moving to Singapore it took only one year to become equal partner with Mr. Nikhil Shah, owner of Kobain which was already well established IT company in Singapore those days. Shortly after that they expanded the company and today company has offices in 12 cities around the world and three factories where they produce motherboards, keyboards, power supplies, DVD players, monitors and so much more. The product range is huge and that is why there are no competitors on the market yet. Their products are sold under brand Mercury and well known around the globe. There is over 160 products and over 300 models which are sold across the US, Middle East, Europe and India.
Kobain has three factories, two in India and one in China but their plan is to build one more factory in Eastern Europe and it will be in Polland or Czechoslovakia. Products sale varies from country to country and in India products are sold directly to distributors while in US products go to merchants. Products in the Middle East are sold through dealers. Sale of Mercury products Kobian operates from Singapore through its 12 offices around the globe.

Since their death his biggest support in work and life is his wife Rashmi who also gave him two children, son Harsha who is 13 and daughter Divya who is 10. The whole family is very attached to India and people there and that is why
Rajesh is trying to help poor people in India giving provision of his annual profit to feed over 20,000 people. At the moment food from his charity centers is given in 20 cities across India and his plan is to spread that charity work to Cambodia and Africa and offer help and food to poor and hungry people in that area.
