Ranchi MBA aspirants gear up for GD, interview

After results of all the major management entrance exams have been announced

, now it is time for the students in Ranchi to attend the GD/PI of various management institutes of their choice. More than 10,000 students appeared for the various national-level entrance tests for pursuing the MBA programme this year.

There are number of institutes which have already conducted the group discussion and personal interview at various hotels in Ranchi. According to an estimate more than ten institutes are visiting the city on weekly basis.

A number of applicants have to go to other major metros for the same. Sakshi Singh is one such a student, who attended the GD and PI, recently at Noida for Amity University.

He discloses the fact, one may find more than one-fourth of the total participating students from Jharkhand owing to fewer of good management education institutes in Jharkhand as compared to those in the other states.

Number of students appearing for various state level management entrance tests is no less. Swati Singh is one among those students who appeared for MH-CET this year. She was afraid of any thing that might happen in Maharashtra, because of recent attacks on the students from states like Bihar and Jharkhand. In either case they have to move out of Jharkhand.

In this season, touts at the railways station are doing a brisk business, said Sanket Lal who had to take the help of tout for receiving a confirmed reservation. One may find train reservation process itself a cumbersome task, owing to the number of people in queue, he said. The season has turned out to be boon for many institutions as well.

The list includes banks, post offices and courier services and the most prominent form centres. If one visits a local branch of a bank one may find a number of receipts piled-up for the issue of demand draft of value ranging from Rs. 500 to as high as Rs. 2000.

Courier services are also earning huge profits from dispatch of application documents, as few prefer to stand in a long queue for speed post at the post offices.

There could be no better time for the form centres as well who are selling the forms at a higher Price. Some are selling the application forms as high as more than 300 rupees than the actual price, said Amit Lakra who recently bought the form of Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune.

Perils continue but students have a no way out, than to suffer this and pursue their dream, said Seral Murmu, an under graduate student at St Xavier's College, Ranchi.
