If youre a rapper or singer and youve got a great song idea you need a way to make it a reality. Recording your vocals on Rap Beats and Instrumentals is an important step in the music creation process. But did you know you dont have to spend thousands of dollars to get your vocals recorded professionally? Now days you can do it on a budget and still get amazing results. This is something a lot of rappers and singers who buy rap beats and R&B beats dont know or think about.
Q: Do I NEED to record my vocals to my song in a large, expensive, professional studio to get pro results?
A: NO! You do not need to record your song in a large, expensive studio to get a professional product. You can use any studio that is set up decently to record your song. To be totally real, you can get some REALLY PROFESSIONAL results recording on Hip Hop Beats and Instrumentals with a couple inexpensive pieces of equipment and your laptop. Dont be fooled by these big studio owners and their HUGE price tags telling you that you need to record using their expensive equipment otherwise it wont sound good. Go to your local music store and look for a nice Condenser Microphone and a USB Audio Interface (there are lots of cheap, entry-level options available). Condenser microphones are studio mics and audio interfaces are basically sound cards for your laptop so you can record your vocals on Beats and Instrumentals using a pro mic. Then all you need to do is find a nice dead-sounding (no echos) space. You can use a closet just get some studio foam to pad the walls with. You can probably get all this stuff (minus the laptop) for around $500.
If you dont want to do any of that stuff and just spit your vocals over top of your HipHop Beats and Instrumentals, what you can also do is just find a small project or home studio owner in your city and record all your vocals there. Go to Google, do a search for local recording studios and find out their rates. A decent project studio will probably charge you around $25-$35 per hour to record. You can also try building a relationship with people that have basement studios they might not mind recording you for free because they like your style of lyrics, rapping beats or particular music project. The point is to search around and, more importantly, listen to other recordings the studios you contact have done. Choose the one you think sounds decent and is at a price you can afford. Remember, you dont need a HUGE multi-million dollar studio to make your song sound like it was recorded in one!
