Rational problem solving model numbers are clear as the solitary of the basis of mathematics. Rational problem solving or else called as the fractions. It also used to solve the ration of the two quantities. It consists of both the numerator and the denominator numbers. But the denominator number will not equal to the value of 0. For example (x/y), is called as the rational problem solving numbers.

There are many operations can be performed by a rational numbers to solve the problems. They are given as,

Addition operation rational problem solving

Subtraction operation rational problem solving

Multiplication operation rational problem solving

Division operation operation rational problem solving

Example Problems for Rational Problem Solving Model:

Example 1:

Add the given numbers by using certain rules,'6/5 ' and '7/5'

Solution:

Step 1: Write the given rational numbers, we get,

'6/5 + 3/5'

Step 2: In the next step, we have to verify, whether the given rational numbers are having the frequent denominators or not.

Step 3: Since it has the frequent denominator, we can directly add the rational numbers.

'= (6+3)/5'

'= 9/5'

This is the required solution for adding the rational numbers. '9/5'

Example 2:

Subtract the given numbers by using the proper rules,'3/2' and '5/4.'

Solution:

Step 1: In the first step, we have to write the given rational numbers,

'3/2-5/4'

Step 2: In the next step, verify whether the denominators present in the given rational numbers are same or not.

Step 3: Since in the given difficulty the denominators are not same, we have to find the common denominator.

Here, the common denominator is 4. Therefore, we get,

'(6 - 5)/4'

Step 4: By simplifying the obtained numbers, we get,

'= 1/4'

This is the required answer for subtracting the rational numbers.

Example 3:

Multiply the given rational numbers, '3/5 xx 7/3'

Solution:

Step 1: Write the given rational numbers,

'=3/5 xx 7/3'

Step 2: In the next step, we have to first multiply the numerator terms.

'3xx7 = 21'

Step 3: In the next step, we have to multiply the denominator terms.

'5xx3= 15'

Step 4: In this step, we have to simplify the obtained result, we get,

'21/15'

'= 7/5'

This is the required solution for the multiplication of rational numbers.
