Ravenscraig may require skills of technicians with plumbing course training

Engineers who have plumbing course qualifications on their CVs may be required during

the development of Ravenscraig, which has announced its second phase of construction this week.

This huge development - the second part alone is costing about 500 million - will see a whole new town centre developed in the area in Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Technicians who have taken a plumbing course may find that their expertise is required, since work on the main component of the complex will soon begin.

"Ravenscraig is a long-term regeneration project but ... with work on the first phase now nearing completion, we are moving forward with our plans for phase two," Ravenscraig project director Jim Fitzsimons remarked.

Developers have claimed Ravenscraig is one of the biggest regeneration projects in Europe, covering an area twice the size of Monaco and involving the construction of about 3,500 new homes.
