But not all used car dealers are as bad as they are made to be. As an experienced used car dealer holding several car dealerships in Sydney, yours truly can say with conviction that hardly 10% of dealers are unscrupulous.

Coming back to used cars, it is interesting to find why so many of them end up with various car dealerships in Sydney. One of the reasons could be that with increased standard of living and purchasing power coupled with easy financing terms, people are inclined to buy new cars. Few more reason could be the arrival of latest models, finding the existing car inadequate for a growing family, fuel efficiency, etc.

Whatever the reasons for people dumping their perfectly running cars, my experience says that sometimes it is worthwhile to visit a used car dealer to witness the sheer number of cars on display. You may find Fords, Toyotas, Mercs, Volvos and many other luxury cars.

Now if you always wanted to own that Mercedes or Lexus but are short on a budget to buy a new car, visiting a used car dealer may perfectly suit your interests. However, before striking the deal, verify the following:

The used car dealer should have good experience and extensive range of cars and a wide network of car dealerships in Sydney.

They should provide best value on second hand cars and their pricing should be transparent and without any frills.

The car that you intend to buy has been thoroughly checked before delivery.

Whether they provide other services like easy finance, extended warranty, 24/7 roadside assistance, interstate transfer, etc at reasonable rates.

The above is a rough guide on what to expect from a used car dealer. It all depends on the model and age of the car. If you are lucky you may strike the best deal on second hand cars, which in my experience sometime run better than new cars. My advice is to keep searching the websites of used car dealers, where you can enter the make, model, colour and other details to zero in the car that you always coveted.
