Burbank, CA, 09-04-08 - IVC DIGITAL FILM CENTER, a Point.360 Company (Nasdaq: PTSX) today announced its new Real Align service to digitally correct registration and alignment artifacts when restoring color motion pictures from original YCM separations or from intermediates with printed-in registration errors. Real Align offers significant advantages in precision and speed over all other such processes. A proprietary toolset addresses all registration and alignment issues, giving focus and sharpness as never seen before.

The Real Align process starts with 35mm YCM separations -or- an already combined 35mm intermediate. The client has the option of either dry or wetgate 4K-or-2K pin registered scanning. If the elements are scratched, we recommend using our Imagica Wetgate scanner to eliminate or significantly reduce scratches and other surface defects during the scan rather in digital cleanup. IVC is the only facility outside of Japan to offer Imagica Wetgate scanning.

The 4K/2K data is recombined and aligned using IVC's proprietary Real Align software, then color corrected using a FilmMaster Digital Intermediate color grade system.

In addition, IVC has the latest high-end, digital restoration toolbox in the industry. During a Real Align project, IVC's restoration experts access whatever may be necessary to address image stabilization, fading, color breathing, flicker, grain, dirt, scratches and other wear & age related defects. Final 4K-or-2K data can be output to 35mm film, HDCAM-SR, or transferred to almost any file format for delivery.
