While the city's amazing beach resort draws thousands to its shores each year, Nice also features some world-renowned museums and galleries. In addition, keep an eye out for the spectacular architecture and shopping opportunities in the city. For the ultimate romantic getaway, few places rival St.Tropez. This coastal town is perfect for a fairy tale wedding or your honeymoon.

Nature is also very much a part of Southern France's character, and one of its most famous parks is the Mercantour National Park. It is a spectacular natural habitat. The amazing range of flora and fauna will keep you in awe. The crown jewel of the park; however, is the Valley of Marvels where visitors can gaze upon thousands of petroglyps, which date back to the Bronze Age.

The festivals and events in Southern France, draws millions and while the Cannes International Film Festival takes the top spot, there are numerous other festivals for which the region is famous. One such festival is the Nice Jazz Festival, which brings together the biggest names in the jazz scene from around the world. The Wine festivals are also quite popular and they usually happen in August, just after the harvest.
