At Simonstown, you will see buildings that date to the start of the 19th century. Another recent phenomenon in this old suburb is the colony of African penguins.

The city was initially established in this place to ensure that the ships rounding the cape got fresh meat and vegetables from as early as 1652. The produce came from the Company gardens, where you can relax in a refreshing green space, albeit smaller than it used to be.

Another special attraction in Cape Town is the Table Mountain, which seems to dominate the skyline. Fynbos cover the slopes of the mountain, which has a number of trails that people use to go to the top. Instead of hiking, you can ride in a cable car that will take you to the top in a matter of minutes, providing great views. From the top, you will be able to look at the city and other parts in all directions.

The mountain is actually a part of the Table Mountain National Park that goes up to the Cape Point. The mountain is a large wild flower garden that contains more plant species than the entire country of Great Britain.

Cape Town has unspoiled white sand beaches where you can take part in various activities. They are great places even when you just want somewhere to relax.

Get the opportunity to witness vibrant sea life at False Bay, which is one of the world's largest bays. This is where Southern Right whales retreat to mate and give birth, which usually takes place between August and November.
