Reasons Why Adolescents Build Up An Alcohol Dependency

Teens that range between 12-18 years old have at some time played around with or consumed liquor

Teens who go on with their addiction to alcohol through their later years would likely go through it's side effects when they reach 20 years old. Many might encounter having random severe headaches, insomnia or mild depression which is brought on by their addiction to liquor from a young age. There are various kinds of teenagers who are likely to develop an addiction to alcohol are those searching for new thrills, teens from broken families and curious teenagers. Here are some of the main reasons why young adults develop a dependancy for alcohol.

Research shows that about 30-40% of teenagers drink alcohol out of curiosity. They want to know what it tastes like and what they will feel after they have drank some. There are also other students who don't understand the feeling they get when they drink alcohol for the first time. This is why they consume more to know why they might feel a certain way whenever they have liquor. For this reason, treatment centers and alcohol rehabs know how to deal with and treat young adults who may have early indications of alcohol dependency.

Teens do not know how to identify the various kinds of alcoholic beverages. They don't know that these different alcoholic drinks have different amounts of alcohol content. Beer has lower alcohol content than gin or vodka, beer only has 3-8% alcohol content while some gin have a 40-50% alcohol content. So teenagers who combine their drinks would very easily get drunk and can easily develop an addiction for alcohol should they consume it on a regular basis. That's the reason it's best if they get help for their dependency from alcohol treatment centers and treatment centers as soon as possible. This way they will not experience the long term side effects of alcohol dependency any time soon.

The long term effects young adults experience when they start drinking in an earlier age is they may likely have an alcohol addiction by the time they reach college. They would not only suffer from its long term effects such as developing mental disorders, they are also prone to drug abuse. Studies show that 60% of teenagers who experimented with alcoholic beverages at an early age would likely experiment on using drugs also.
