Recognition For Sanmars Achievements

For over four decades, The Sanmar Group has been receiving distinguished awards and recognition

, for its total commitment towards a healthy work culture, excellent environment and safety practices across its manufacturing locations.

N Sankar, Chairman of The Sanmar Group, was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Vinyl India 2012 international conference held at Mumbai. The award came in recognition of his pioneering efforts in the promotion and growth of the PVC industry in India and abroad. In 2010, he had been the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Entrepreneur Award at TiECON, Chennai, for his entrepreneurial spirit.

The British Safety Council conferred the International Safety Award on the Mettur (Plant II), Karaikal and Cuddalore manufacturing plants of Chemplast Sanmar and Flowserve Sanmar of Sanmar Engineering Technologies, for the year 2012, for outstanding health and safety practices at the workplaces. The International Safety Award recognises organisations that show a real commitment in improving corporate health and safety.

The Government of India presented the 2009 National Safety Award to Sanmar Speciality Chemicals, Berigai, located in Tamil Nadu, for its outstanding safety performance in an Accident Free Working Year. For their outstanding safety performance in terms of Lowest Average Injury Frequency Rate and Accident Free Working Year the constituents of Sanmar Engineering: Sanmar Foundries - Viralimalai, BS&B Safety Systems (India) - Karapakkam, Tyco Sanmar Viralimalai, Xomox Sanmar Viralimalai, won the 2009 National Safety Awards in 2011. The awards were presented at a function held in New Delhi.

The Employer Branding Institute, a virtual organisation focusing on best practices in HR management, gives annual awards to outstanding professionals contributing to talent management, development and innovation. A Women at work Leadership Award (2012) was presented to Sarada Jagan, Deputy Managing Director HR. The Group was also conferred the Award for Institutional Building (2012) and the Organisation with innovative HR practices (2011) by the Institute in Mumbai.

Flowserve Sanmar bagged the 5S Excellence Award in the Manufacturing category from CII Southern Region for Environment, Health & Safety practices during the year 2010. Other notable awards include - Supply Chain Leader Award 2010 by Logistics 2.0 for Xomox Sanmar bagged for its No. 1 ranking in supply chain management.
