Starting the simplest check is by going online and inputting the name of the possible candidate. Check into all the hits that are tagged with this person's name. Look for previous employers or the details of his school to see if they add up. Many companies will look for a social networking account with a potential employee's personal ideals or thoughts.

If anything you find is inconsistent with the information you were given, ordering a full background check will answer any questions you have. Staying cautious and understanding the importance of background checks can save you much trouble and headaches.
