Routes Nationales: In France the trunk roads are referred as routes nationales. Presently these roads extend for about 30,500 km. The trunk roads in France are important roadways in the country as they cross most of the parts of the territory whereas the communal roads are only used to serve the local areas. The trunk roads or the routes nationales in France are open for all vehicles. Only certain parts are marked as autoroute. For using trunk roads commuters do not have to pay any toll except for certain parts of the roadway.

Orbital Roads: Orbital roads in France comprise of A86 autoroute, Boulevard Priphrique and Priphrique. The A86 autoroute is also referred as Paris super Priphrique. This roadway runs around Paris and follows an irregular path. Boulevard Priphrique is a ring road in Paris and it is noted as one of the busiest highways in Europe. This roadway is considered as a boundary between the city of Paris and the suburban areas. Priphrique is a ring road that runs around the city of Caen. This roadway is also termed as route nationale 814. It runs for about a distance of 26 km.

Routes Departementales: The routes departementales in France comprise of D52 Road, Roman Road and Route Departementale 914. The D52 Road connects Pont Farcy to Vire in France. In the Nord departement of France there are seven Roman roads. Route Departementale 914 is also known as RD 914 that runs by the Mediterranean Sea. This roadway was initially known as Route Nationale 114 before the Pyrnes-Orientales department undertook it. As soon as it crosses the border towards Portbou it is termed as N-260.

Streets: Some of the noted streets in France are:

Sainte-Catherine Street: This is a pedestrian street running for a distance of 1.2 km. This is a noted street in Bordeaux. Between the years 2000 and 2003 this street has been completely refurbished.
