Recycling Of Corrugated Boxes

Corrugated boxes are simply cardboard boxes used for wrapping up and storing things

. They are one of the most popular packaging materials available. They are much popular due to a number of reasons. We all have corrugated boxes at our home. One of the best things about corrugated box is their recyclability. We can use and reuse them and they can be made into other useful forms. Emails have replaced letters but still we love to write letters and we all have mail boxes at our homes. Here in this article let us now take a look at how an ordinary corrugated box is made to a mail box.

The first step you have to do is to cut the box carefully by slowly breaking the glue. We should take good care that when we are separating the glue the box should not break.

The next step is to locate the joint which is used to secure the sides of the box together.

The box is now flattened by laying it in the surface keeping the side joint up in the box center relative to the edges of the box

Now break open the box by your fingers or using a tool such as a knife and slowly put one joint to the other.

Now the box should be turned inside out so that the inner surface of the box is now outside.

Fold the box and make it in the form of a letter box

Apply glue to the edges and put some weight into it so that it remain fixed

Some other important points to be noted while doing all these are:

Broken or smashed corrugated boxes cannot be made into letter boxes. Those boxes whose corners are severely damaged should not be used for these purposes.

While breaking the side joint dont use a sharp knife. The using of a sharp knife may damage the surface of the box.

While we are applying glue to the joint try to get some good quality stuff so that it remains glued. Elmer is one of the best glue which can be used for this purpose.

While applying the glue do not pour in too much glue, for it might get spread all over the surface. Even if we apply some excess glue accidently wipe off the residue carefully.

Corrugated boxes can be recycled and made into many other useful things. We can make a pen stand or small boxes or even voting booths using the recycled ones. Many companies are undertaking used corrugated boxes and then recycling them to make new boxes. We can give our used box directly to them also. While packing all ways try to use corrugated boxes, not plastic. All we want is a good environment with some clean air to breathe in.
